Dr. Teresa Oliva-Custic completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Ottawa, and then obtained her medical degree from Masaryk University Medical Faculty in the Czech Republic. She received her Family Medicine degree from McGill University in 2003, and was approved a change in scope of practice to include Dermatology by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in 2009. With a focused practice in Dermatology, Dr. Oliva-Custic is dedicated to improving access to skin care and advice in her home town. Her goal is to continue to strive to keep her practice as a rapid access community skin clinic in Ottawa, and to adapt her practice to best serve the needs of the population.
Dr. Oliva-Custic is affiliated with the Family Medicine Department at the University of Ottawa. She spends time teaching medical students and Family Medicine residents every year. Her aim is to help provide them with a good foundation in Dermatology, which can help in their future practices.
As owner of DermIDEA AntiAging & Medical Aesthetics, Dr. Oliva-Custic believes in adhering to the highest medical and safety standards. All injections are performed by Dr. Oliva-Custic herself, and all treatments are medically supervised. Dr. Oliva-Custic is Board Certified by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and is working towards a fellowship in anti-aging and metabolic medicine. She believes that a science and research foundation for all her products and treatments is important, and she applies her medical knowledge and experience to provide safe personalized care for each client.
Dr. Oliva-Custic has a passion for art, and believes that both art and science are integral to beauty. Her artistic pursuits in music, poetry, writing, and dance help inspire her creative vision as she applies science to enhance beauty.
